Biography

Dr. Akinyele Lovelace is a board‑certified internist dedicated to strengthening primary care and preserving the vital role of independent medical practices in today’s healthcare landscape. With more than 15 years of experience across diverse communities, he has seen firsthand how trusted, long‑standing relationships between patients and their primary care providers create the strongest foundation for lifelong health.

Guided by this belief, Dr. Lovelace has built his career around delivering accessible, high‑quality, and personalized care—while championing the independence of practices that put patients, not systems, at the center. His work reflects a commitment to keeping primary care local, community‑focused, and deeply rooted in compassion and continuity.

Dr. Lovelace has been an active leader in the regional healthcare community, including six years of service on the Baystate Health Board of Trustees, most recently as Chair. In partnership with his wife, Christina Lovelace, he served as Honorary Chair of the Baystate Noble Ball in 2024. He is affiliated with Baystate Noble Hospital, Baystate Franklin Medical Center, Baystate Wing Hospital, and Baystate Medical Center.

Dr. Lovelace  is also a regular speaker on  Community Radio Station WSFD‑LP in Westfield, broadcast live on Live365, where he discusses primary care topics and everyday health concerns such as chronic disease prevention, mental wellness, healthy aging, medication safety, and strategies for navigating the healthcare system.

Dr. Lovelace earned a Bachelor of Science from Xavier University of Louisiana and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. After practicing medicine in Texas and earning an Master of Business Administration from Texas Tech University, he returned to the East Coast in 2015 to join Family Medicine Associates. Since returning, Dr. Lovelace has focused his work on advancing primary care, clinical leadership, and innovative models that improve access and outcomes for patients across Western Massachusetts.
